The Santa Barbara Mountain Trail Volunteer’s would like to thank local MTB rider and volunteer Mike for his blood, sweat and tears last week during our weekly work and ride event at Elings Park.
Just a quick thanks for organizing the Wednesday trail days over at
Elings. I was able to get in a few laps this weekend and what a
difference we made with the brush work done last week. It was like a
breath of fresh air after bush whacking my way up through the thistle,
mustard and PO to hit the sections of trail we had cleared. BUT yet
there is so much more work to be done! The trails underneath all the
brush are super fun and fast right now, its just that you need armor
if you don’t want to come up looking like you just ran through a raspberry
patch. Keep up the good work in spreading the word and if there’s
anything I can do to help get more folks out there let me know. Hey
whats more fun then taking out any remaining work day stress on some 6
foot thistle with a gas powered hedgers… i don’t know maybe testing
out that newly cleared trail! count on me for both and supplying some
post work refreshments!
