Sage Trail Alliance has provided some 2000 hours of work each year to care for the Santa Barbara trails. Founded in 1988, our mission is and has always been to maintain and improve our trails to reduce risk and increase the enjoyment of all users.
What we do:
Educate – Responsible trail use, respect, and education of all trail users.
Maintain – The design & maintenance of environmentally & socially sustainable trails.
Protect – Provide responsible care for public lands through continued stewardship.

Through private donations, corporate sponsorship, and grants we keep a staff of professional trail builders employed to take care of trails on Santa Barbara’s public lands.
This year our staff has:
Engaged dozens of volunteers in education and stewardship opportunities.
Broken Ground on multiple new trail centers
Brough back 20 miles of historic single track
Revitalized 30 miles of trail.
Designed, built and opened 3 miles of new trail.
